Re: The Election. Not that anythings ever really over --there's still so much to do to fix this country's downward spiral-- but this is a hopeful morning for America. Go Nancy!

Indeed. Now let's just hope the Dems take the Senate, otherwise absolutely nothing will get done.

I'm actually proud of the voters.

Looks like sorryeverybody.com will be going out of business soon. Hopefully.

Well the House and Senate were good, but the gay marriage issue was pretty depressing. And the simple bans of gay marriage were one thing, but this Virginia one is one of the most disgusting things ever. And I say this as a straight man. They added a part to it that would ban all rights, benefits, etc. to anyone other than straight married couples (not even just gays). A Republican delegate said "this will be a major embarrassment to Virginia to have this in our Bill of Rights and Constitution." But in the end, the media usually only called it the gay marriage amendment, and most people didn't know much besides that, and it passed easily 57%-43%. This is the biggest crime of last night.

If anyone from outside of Virginia wants to see about the particulars of that disgusting amendment, this site gives plenty of information of what has happened.

Yes, indeed, anonymous. On a brighter note, Patricia Heaton and Jim Caviezel's faces are currently flat because the stem-cell amendment got passed! Yay!

And on an event brighter note, Katherine Harris is suicidal! Double yay!

and now Rumsfeld is stepping down...bigger yay! gee, maybe if "President" Bush had forced him out a long time ago, the crazy right might have had better results last night

Yes, very exciting. I couldn't even believe it. I was quite jaded, and prepared for the Republicans to run the country and the world into the ground, for EVER. This is very encouraging.

And Virginia is looking pretty nice. I'm so glad that it's the race that will determine the future of the Senate, cause the Republican there is such a perfect example of all that's wrong with the party.

George Allen and the GOP are toast.
